1. What is Passkey Authentication?
Passkey Authentication is a more secure way to verify your identity when accessing your FirstMetroSec account. Instead of entering a One-Time Password (OTP), you can authenticate using your device's built-in security features, such as your fingerprint, Face ID, or device PIN.
2. Why is FirstMetroSec introducing Passkey Authentication?
This enhancement reflects our ongoing commitment in improving account security while providing a reliable investing experience. It also aligns with the latest Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) guidelines on stronger customer authentication.
3. Which FirstMetroSec platforms are affected by this update?
This update applies only to the FirstMetroSec web platforms, including FirstMetroSec PRO.
For FirstMetroSec GO (mobile app), biometric login (such as fingerprint or Face ID) is already available. This advisory does not change the existing login experience on the app.
4. When will Passkey Authentication take effect?
Passkey Authentication will be introduced beginning July 1, 2026. We'll send a separate advisory with activation instructions before implementation.
5. Do I need to download another application?
No. Passkey Authentication uses the built-in security features of your compatible smartphone, tablet, or computer. No additional app is required.
6. What happens if I change my mobile phone or computer?
If you replace or upgrade your device, you'll need to register your new device for Passkey Authentication. We'll provide step-by-step guidance should this be necessary.
7. What if I lose my registered device?
If your registered device is lost or stolen, please contact FirstMetroSec Customer Service immediately so we can help secure your account and assist you with registering a new device.
8. Can I use Passkey Authentication on more than one device?
Additional details on supported devices and registration limits will be shared prior to implementation.
9. What if my device does not support fingerprint or face recognition?
You may still be able to authenticate using your device PIN or another supported authentication method, depending on your device's capabilities.
10. Will this affect my investments or account information?
No. This update only changes how you authenticate your identity. Your account, portfolio, and investments remain unchanged.
11. Where can I get help?
